Woven and Composite strapping both have break strengths similar to steel banding, but will not cut employees or customers like steel banding can.
Non-Metallic Banding is Product-Friendly
Non-metallic banding will not damage the product being secured like steel banding will because it doesn't rust or cause rust stains on material and is more weather resistant than steel banding. It won't ruin painted finishes or cut into product. The reduced need for protective corners reduces the cost further.
Non-Metallic Banding is Easier to Use
Non-metallic banding has a coil weight approximately 25% of the weight of steel banding – lighter weight coils prevent injury from lifting 100 pound coils of steel.
Non-metallic requires one tool (tensioner) to tension and cut the strap. In many cases, steel banding systems require two tools to secure a joint.
Non-metallic banding secures small bundles easier than steel banding.
